Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Your heart
aches, you say, Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin? My heart bleeds. At the
unmitigated hypocrisy and cunning liberally sprinkled in your latest
statement regarding alleged injustices your faith apparently is
suffering from others.
Let
me address an aside first. You accuse Penang DCM Ramasamy of
harbouring hostility to the Muslim society. How convenient. Hostility?
Why should anyone be hostile to Islam or any religion for that matter?
Is anyone hostile to Christianity, Buddhism, Bahaism, or Hinduism?
Nobody is bothered with anyone’s faith, the bitterness is only towards
the acts of certain Muslims.
Sick that Muslims can offend and insult
other religions and no action taken against them, sick that Muslims can
kidnap children and convert them into Islam and then demand, like you do
now, that their status be not questioned Mohd
Asri Zainul Abidin, you are the mufti of Perlis and supposedly, a man
of religiosity. Does it fall within your responsibilities to intrude
into a relatively straightforward family matter of three children aged
14 and 10 being deprived of their mother’s love and affection? Or did
you fear that your religious agencies are in such a legally precarious
position that the heavy guns had to be brought in?Did
you really state that as long as a child can recite some declaration he
becomes an irrefutable Muslim? Did you really say that? The children
were taken away 3 years ago. Thus according to your unbelievable
argument, children of 11 and 7 years’ age can decide their religious
future? Does this right and authority extend to children of all faiths?
I am surprised that you can defend this form of conversion and even
display it as a matter of pride. And to cut to the chase, what right do you have to interfere in a family matter. Because you are Muslim? The
highest courts in the land have decided, that children cannot be
converted without the consent of both parents. And yet you furiously
support the action of a drug-addict father who illegally converted them
and Muslim bodies who refuse to allow the children to be returned to
their mother. You say the children prefer to go to a religious school!
Let them stay with their mother for 3 years and ask them again! What
you are condoning is a crime and against society. For 3 years the
children were brought up in an alien environment possibly subject to all
manner of Pavlovian inducement. I notice that when you met them, they
enjoyed a satay treat with you. Did you also promise them Kentucky
Fried Chicken and MacDonald Doubleburgers with Baskin Robbins thrown in?
What an irresistible delight to 14 and 10 year-olds! I still cannot believe what you, a state mufti, are saying.
