This looks much like the first impeachment miniseries the Democrats did, but in summer reruns.
The House of Representatives rushed through the impeachment on 14 January, voting without evidence, testimony, argument, or deliberation to impeach Trump on the single count of incitement to insurrection.
As quoted by CBS News, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said at the time, without evidence: “We know that the president of the United State incited this insurrection, this armed rebellion, against our common country.” No evidence has since been introduced of insurrection or rebellion, armed or otherwise. Impeachment is a political act, however, rather than an act constrained by the tenets of law and evidence. The law may indicate that the miscreants who entered the U.S. Capitol were guilty of the crimes they’re actually being charged with by Justice Department prosecutors, mostly some version of violent or unlawful entry, disorderly conduct, and/or interfering with government business.
(I cannot possibly imagine what could go wrong with letting the CHICOMS develop and access the US power grid and I’m absolutely positive none of you can either)
The executive order, which executes key tenets of President Biden’s climate change agenda, was released on the former Veep’s first day in office.
Section 7 of the massive order, which includes the revocation of the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline, also revokes several climate and energy-focused executive orders penned by the Trump administration.
Subpoint C notes that “Executive Order 13920 of May 1, 2020 (Securing the United States Bulk-Power System), is hereby suspended for 90 days.”
The Trump-era order sought to ban, replace, and set new criteria on bulk-power system (BPS) electric equipment coming from a foreign country or national that poses a national security threat.
“Foreign adversaries are increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in the United States bulk-power system, which provides the electricity that supports our national defense, vital emergency services, critical infrastructure, economy, and way of life. The bulk-power system is a target of those seeking to commit malicious acts against the United States and its people, including malicious cyber activities, because a successful attack on our bulk-power system would present significant risks to our economy, human health and safety, and would render the United States less capable of acting in defense of itself and its allies,” the introduction to the executive order read.
Total reported rapes in Sweden increased last year, and the change was driven by a surge in the number of sex attacks against children, according to National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå) statistics.
According to Brå, the number of reported rapes in which women were victims remained largely the same as in 2019, but the number of child rapes in which the victim was under 18 increased by 16 per cent.
A total of 3,950 rapes against children were reported in 2020, with investigator Linn Brandelius telling Swedish broadcaster SVT: “When rape against children increases, there are usually large cases that are behind the change, where it may be the same victim and the same perpetrator, but crime has been going on for a long time.” However, Brandelius admitted that “this year we have not uncovered a big case, so we do not know what the increase is due to.”
