The 24-hour ultimatum being served on MAS on behalf of all
Malaysians to come clean on the alleged fly-by-night operations involving the
relocation of East Malaysians by the thousands into West Malaysia must be
treated seriously. The challenge posed to the caretaker and President of UMNO,
Najib, cannot be given the cold shoulder either. That ultimatum must be demanded by all Malaysians. It does
not matter on which side of the political divide you belong to – unless of
course you are subscribing to political tyranny.
Malaysians are certain that people of integrity will have
done their homework soundly before speaking out on behalf of the rakyat. This
allegation – which appears to have basis so far, that thousands are being flown
into mainland political turf and being done so in unearthly hours is a direct
challenge to our democracy and raises serious questions that have far reaching
consequences affecting 29 million people and even their future children.
Why is there this allegation?
Why are so many suddenly being
flown in?
Why do so in the steal of night?
How come they are all from East
Malaysia?
What is the plot?
What is the development?
Who is behind this?
Who
paid for all these flights?
Where are they now?
If MAS does not respect and respond within the
next 24
hours, we have a very serious problem as it would be guilty of
jeopardizing the innocent and valid concerns of the citizens of this
land. If the caretaker PM does not give
transparent and satisfactory answers, we would be on a railroad for a head-on
collision between a 56-year regime and the 13 million voting rakyat. In the best interest of this nation; in the sacred honor for
democratic principles; in the name of integrity and accountability; and for the
love of citizens, King and nation – MAS and Najib have a categorical duty to
respond well within the ultimatum that the rakyat have served through their representative
voices.
We cannot sweep this very serious question and allegation
under the carpet. To do so is tantamount to betraying the nation of its right
to ensure a peaceful, meaningful and democratic general election. The entire media world of principle-centered professionals
who believe in the sanctity of journalism must put their pens and mouthpieces
together to force honest answers to this frightening development that has come to
the surface and so close to polling date. The 24-hour ultimatum has to be non-negotiable and is certainly
free from the bondage of race bars, religion divisiveness and social status; it
must be free of political patronage. It is at the very core of the call to duty of all Malaysians.
It is the very essence of the demand for the democratic principles of a free,
fair and clean voting. Without forthcoming and acceptable answers to the questions,
going to the polls will be intepreted as a defeatist' surrender to tyranny and not a liberation onto the Way
Forward of 21st century Malaysia
