Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Tehachapi:
As the opposition party, Pakatan Rakyat and its component parties, PAS,
PKR and DAP, have to be mentally and psychologically prepared to eat
fire, walk on water and do all the impossible to realise its ultimate
goal. We ain't see nothing yet and we should expect more hardships in the works. We are now witnessing BN’s Machiavellian power play. Have
no fear as the rakyat have awakened and any provocation will only
backfire. Steel is forged in the hot furnace raise to several thousands
of degree. This is timely for people to realise the harshness of
political struggle. Any attempt at provocation will only harden
the resolve of the people to bring about fundamental change, by turning
the old systems upside down and conduct a thorough house cleaning. God
is watching.
Dark Knight: It is a strategy to
divert and disrupt DAP's campaign momentum. Nevertheless, I believe DAP
can continue to field candidates under its banner and attend to the
non-recognition of its CEC after the election.
NoNoNo:
I cannot understand why some organisations can still be influenced by
BN. After dissolution of Parliament, there is no government but just
caretaker government. But they are too dumb to differentiate between
government and party. At first the Election Commission (EC) plays dirty, now it’s the Registrar of Societies (ROS). Rayfire:
ROS, please don't get the people angry with your last-minute antics
regarding DAP's status. We are well aware of your master’s tactics and
doing this now will only worsen our perception of your ill intentions
towards the opposition party. Please look at a mirror and ask yourself - can I live as a person who has sold my soul to the ‘known’ devil? Damn
these ruthless power crazy morons who are doing all they can to
undermine the will of the people. You want to win our votes, win it fair
and square. Speechless: This is exactly the
reason why we need to change the government. As if manipulating the
electoral roll, producing sex videos and denying its opponents of fair
media access are not enough, using the ROS to victimise a political
opponent just before nomination day is the lowest of the low, the
sickest of the sick and the most despicable thing imaginable. The
EC and the caretaker defence minister, together with the ROS, should
stop acting out the good cop-bad cop scenario. They must think we are
stupid. This crisis which the ROS and its cohorts have so cruelly
inflicted on the DAP will only garner huge sympathy for all DAP
candidates. The line has been crossed. Don't underestimate the anger of the people, which can run deep and wide. Opportunity
often lies just behind a crisis: when DAP campaigns under a PAS or PKR
logo, this will prove once and for all that in times of trouble, the
three component parties stick together and they fight together.
ONG:
It looks like all DAP candidates may end up having to contest under the
PSM banner. If it comes to that, the problem is solved for the Jelapang seat.
P Dev Anand Pillai:
DAP will have to make quick arrangements to stand under PKR and PAS
logos and make a plea to the people of Malaysia as this is oppression at
its worst under the present regime. It is now up to the people of
Malaysia.
Masa Sudah Tiba -Tukar: The best solution is all DAP candidates stand under PKR banner and after winning, revert to DAP. This is a blessing in disguise. ROS can reject DAP CEC but not deregister of DAP. If Pakatan wins GE13, heads will roll.
Anonymous #25595435:
We object to ROS' action. How can they wait till the last minute to
act. It’s so unethical. It is obvious they are doing this do stop DAP
from contesting.
Change We Will: Umno-BN is really pulling out all the stops. It only shows how scared they are.
Cantabrigian:
All DAP candidates should participate in the general election as
Independents. When you win, regroup and establish DAP Baru like Umno in
1988.
Patriot: In my view, DAP standing on an
Independent ticket is not wise. DAP should instead stand on PKR ticket,
if there's no remedy to the latest ROS saga. However, if there is, DAP should sort this out immediately but standing on independent ticket is not a shrewd move.
Ramachandran Muniandy: Why not take an injunction against ROS? As
they can still appeal to the Home Ministry, and while their appeal is
under consideration, they can file an injunction to stop all ROS’
actions against DAP, including whether they can use the DAP logo for the
GE.
Wanderer: This suspicious decision of ROS will give all decent Malaysians, a timely opportunity, to rid their political masters Umno-BN. It is time, we shall take advantage of "change" in Malaysian landscape to right all wrongs established by BN.
The Patriot: I am a BN man. My conscience is troubled by this. I did not signed up for this. I have had enough of such unethical acts.
