If you have noticed, it is very insulting to the Hindus, the matter about the cow's head which Hindus hold sacred. Guess what the Muslims have been saying, instead of condemning the perpetrators, they come out with verses from the Quran saying that Islam does not permit this and that. Their condemnation from the time of 911 have always been conditional. They make it sound as though they have become the victims. Non Muslims actually are not interested in what Islam preaches, that is why they are not Muslims, basically we know from what we see practised around the world. There are
sites run by ex Muslims, no doubt blocked in Malaysia, but I trust them more. Come out and condemn the extremists outright, without excuses, if not hold your peace. My experience and interaction for 26 years in the MAF, has let me experience intolerance, first hand.
This is from a foreign blog, we Malaysians are now world famous. The start of the post in that blog is after this.
Malaysia. Well, itās a week into Ramadan. That period of time which for Muslims is a time of reflection, love and charity towards others. The reason I know about the above is that for the past week now the media has been full of articles about how Islam is a religion of peace, how people who have found Islam wish to share that feeling of love towards all mankind and how Iāve been receiving f-ing amounts of unsolicited mail from Islamic charities begging me to hand over my cash to a worthy cause.
Well, it seems the Muslims of
Shah Alam didnāt receive that memo about āRamadanā as after Friday prayers, a bunch of them got mighty upset over how the Hindus in that town had been given permission to build a temple. So in a typical show of Islamic expression, a bunch of holy worshippers (what is the collective noun for Muslims?) decided to show their displeasure at sharing this planet with people of another faith by leaving a cowās head at the state government headquarters. Seeing as Hindus venerate the cow, Iād think this is akin to shoving a pigās head outside a mosque. Not content with leaving behind a such an offensive token in which to send the government a message, the leader of the protest, Ibrahim Haji Sabri, taunted the government with:
"I challenge (Selangor government leaders) to go on with the temple construction. I guarantee bloodshed and racial tension, If there is blood you (the government) will be responsible.ā
It appears that the region of Malaysia where the Hindus were given permission to build a temple is 90% Islamic, and building a Hindu temple there was deemed inappropriate. Which may explain why
Mohammad Zurit Bin Ramli, another protester, had this to say about this Hindu temple:
"The temple will disrupt our daily activities like prayers. We cannot concentrate with the sounds coming from the temple,"
I suppose the Hindus could always say that it will be a
community centre that will be
open to all faiths. I mean, that excuse works in the UK whenever folks have questioned the building of a mosque. On that note, has anybody ever seen a mosque in the UK ever open its doors for non-Muslims to use?
