Anil Netto's blog screams "Massacre! Israeli forces shell UN school in refugee camp." Well Anil is a known Israeli and US critic. He does editorials in the Catholic Herald, not long ago he used the Herald to push his views. I guess someone must have brought it to his attention. He has slowed down in that department. There is alot of one sided views in his postings about Israel. He hypes it up by sympathising with Palestinian terrorists. He never talks about atrocities like the rocket attacks by Hamas, Mumbai massacres, Sri Lanka, his idols are the left wing nut jobs like Chomsky and Robert Fisk.

His post about the massacres is bunkum. When Hamas has a charter to annihilate all Jews and Israel, he conveniently forgets to mention it. The UN, mainstream media and Anil Netto are wailing and accusing Israel of war crimes (yes, again) after the IDF returned fire at a UN school from which Palestinians were firing mortars. The explosives and booby traps installed in the school by Hamas then blew up, killing dozens of people. And the world and Anil Netto blame Israel. They do not check their facts and go bonkers with their bashing of Israel. Here is what actually happened:

At least thirty people were reportedly killed and 53 wounded in an explosion in a UN-run school in the town of Jabalya in the northern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinians. The IDF issued a statement saying the school grounds were used by terrorists to fire mortar shells at the troops The infantrymen returned mortar shell fire into the school grounds, the army said. Defense officials told The Associated Press that booby-trapped bombs in the school triggered the secondary explosions which killed scores of Palestinians on the site. According to the IDF, the dead included members of the Hamas rocket cell, including senior operatives Imad Abu Askhar and Hassan Abu Askhar. Source

The army noted that Tuesday was not the first time Hamas had attacked Israel from within a school. The IDF released a video taken by an unmanned aerial vehicle in late 2007 showing terrorists firing mortars from right outside a school.



"If you take over - I presume with guns - a UN facility. If you hold the people there as hostages, you shoot out of that facility at Israeli soldiers in the neighbourhood, then you receive incoming fire - I think that's a war crime under international law"
