The case of the Herald having been given permission to continue and then
not allowed to use the word "Allah" for the benefit of our East Malaysian brothers and sisters has just passed us. Previously Bibles in the Iban language referring to God as "Allah" were again deemed offensive to the, mostly West Malaysian Muslims and
banned . These were Bibles once again for the use of Christian Bumiputeras of East Malaysia. They were referring to God as "Allah" long before there was even a Malaysia. The Iban Bible is known as
Bup Kudus. I will not dwell on the use of the word, "Allah" in the Middle East. The use was allowed after being asked to
"des·e·crate" it with the words
"Not for Muslims".[3]The "Sidang Injil Borneo is now suing the Minister and the Goverment of Malaysia for not allowing it to import Christian literature for their children containing the word “Allah”. The church, which is the largest Christian denomination in the state. “In Bahasa Malaysia, the word ‘Allah’ has been used continuously in the printed edition of the
Matthew’s Gospel in Malay in 1629, in the first complete Malay Bible in 1733 until today in the AlkKitab. Now the most recent which actually pisses me is this, the Internal Security Ministry has
confiscated English language Christian children’s books said to contain offensive caricatures of prophets from several bookshops in three states. The raids were conducted by state enforcement officials of the Publications and Al-Quran Texts Control Department under the Internal Security Ministry. What business have these clowns seizing books that are in
English? It's in bloody English! Anyone pushed these English books upon them? Do you not notice a trend? What is their motive? What is offensive to them, you mean to tell me the Muslims have been secretly reading our books? Bibles in the Iban and Indon language were a threat, now caricatures of the Prophets of Christianity are becoming offensive? Oh, the famous sensitivities of the Muslims. What about the sensitivities of the Christians, which is being ridden rough shod all over? Oh, yes, we must be tolerant of their intolerance.
I have taken alot of shit in my lifetime, being tolerant. I am not one of those "roll over" Christians, I have to say my piece when you want to impose your beliefs on the free will of good men. Once in Somalia, after reaching my destination in a place called Xuddur, that took me one and a half days escorting a convoy, we reached a warehouse guarded by the Indian UN Forces, the unit manning that sector was the Jamu Kashmir Light Infantry. It was near the Ethiopian border. The journey to Xuddur was long and hazardous, some of the routes were mined. We were escorting the World Food Program convoy which was an attractive target based on Somali standards. I was the Commander of that convoy. Then again we faced off and overcame these local warlords.
As we were keeping watch during the unloading of the sacks of grain, a middle aged Somali started talking to me. I was very nice to this guy, I actually offered him a cigarette. Out of the blue, he asked me a question, "Are you Muslim?" I replied "No". "Then what are you?" To which I replied," I am a Christian". His answer was this, "Christian bad". After that answer, I guess he will never forget me. I used the butt of my M4A1 on his jaw. He went down. I did follow up with a few more
flurries of kicks. He bled. After risking the lives of my men and my own, sending food to these people, I guess, I demand to be respected, as I had earned it.
Alot of us have drawn a line in the sand. Incidentally, Christians do not believe that Jesus is a Prophet, to us he is the Son of God....more than 2 million of us here in Malaysia, if you include those underground ones, the numbers, will make us even more. Period.
